Michael’s art is the evolution of his training as a scientific illustrator and psychedelic futurist: a field guide to the inhabitants of hyperspace invoked in the ecstatic atmospheres of concerts and music festivals. Since 2007, he has painted in a legendary range of situations from raging basement clubs to NASA’s Ames Research Center to Burning Man, on tour across three continents, and alongside legendary artists Alex & Allyson Grey, Robert Venosa, Martina Hoffmann, Mark Henson, Android Jones, Amanda Sage, Oliver Vernon, Mars-1, Chris Dyer, J Garcia, Jake Kobrin, and many more.
In addition to countless festival appearances, he has logged thousands of hours on easel at residencies in Boulder, Denver, Phoenix, Kansas City, New Orleans, Austin, & Santa Fe…plus five years as art director for Sonic Bloom Festival and two as art director at Wakarusa Festival…and merch design for MAPS, The String Cheese Incident, Conscious Alliance, Creation Skateboards, Grassroots California, and more.
